Dancing, Singing, and Video to Highlight Talent Show February 6
From dancing to rapping, Riverside's Got Talent talent show is sure to be a captivating exhibition of skill. Students, teachers, and parents will be participating in this PTO-sponsored event on Sat., Feb. 6 at 7 pm in the school theater. This is the the first year the PTO is sponsoring the show.
A majority of the acts are music related, such as singing, dancing and playing instruments.
Some of the musicians are even performing original compositions. Junior Rachael Meleney and senior Emma Robinson are preparing to perform a modern dance piece choreographed by dance teacher Marie Middleton.
"It's another performance opportunity, and another chance to dance for my peers. I adore this modern piece that Emma and I are doing, and I love to perform so I thought it would be fun," Meleney said. Some students, however, are taking a different route.
Juniors Davis Blount, John Davis MacMillian, Sam Sykes and freshman
Joe Jongkind will be presenting an original stop-motion short film.
They spent a week in the summer taking many of the photos used in the
film. "It's like a Power Point, just played quickly," Blount said.
Tickets will be available at the door and cost $5 for students and $8 for adults. Click on the headline for the tentative program listing. |

Parents may not be in on every aspect of their students' lives, but an informational parent meeting will allow them to be involved in their academics.
All parents interested in learning about Advanced Placement (AP) courses and interpreting PSAT scores are invited to attend a meeting on Jan. 28 at 6:30pm in the media center.
"It is a combination of PSAT interpretation for parents of 10th and 11th grade students who took it, and information about AP courses and exams," Guidance Counselor Bob Everhart said.
