The word is spreading like wildfire about the Bow Tie club, started by World Religions and history teacher James Hopkins.
The up and coming after school club will teach students how to tie a bow tie, and will teach simple etiquette lessons like table manners.
Hopkins was inspired to start the club by exceptional children teacher Paul Keene and student teacher Alec Macalay; both regularly wear bow ties and are co-advisers of the club.
"I think students like 'different', so they'd be receptive to join a club that's never existed before," Hopkins said.
Students who join the club are encouraged to wear bow ties every Fri. and to basketball games. Boys will wear them traditionally around their neck, and girls have the option to wear there on their head (like a headband) or on their neck.
The gatherings are short and simple and should be very useful and informational.
