Plain gray hoodies and matching socks were nowhere to be found on "Going Coconuts" day. Wacky tacky day, a classic spirit day theme, was Wed. and the participation was incredible. Students seized their opportunity and wore the funniest and most bizarre items they owned. Layered clothes, frizzy pigtails, and outdated prints took over on the third day of Spirit Week.
The explosion of color and craziness proved once again that Riverside has spirit and style (however tacky it may be.)

It's been three decades since the peak of KISS, but this morning the band made an appearance in the senior parking lot.
“Jungle Boogie” was Tuesday's spirit day theme, and students raided their parents' closets for the most fashionable '60s, '70s, and '80s apparal. From KISS to hippies to old-school basketball players, the late 20th century is well-represented.
In Tuesday's blast from the past, students went all out to show their spirit on the second day of Spirit Week.

With floaties, leis, and lifeguards, the festivities of Spirit Week are in full swing.
Monday was "Welcome to Paradise" day and Pirates traded in their eyepatches for beachwear. While swimsuits were prohibited, students found other creative ways to display their sunny school spirit. After making it through four years of high school, a group of seniors dressed as survivors. Other students donned floral shirts and snorkel gear.
However it's expressed, one thing was clear: "Welcome to Paradise" pumped up the student body and delivered a tsunami of school spirit.
